Living in Dubai I had never been exposed to a Charlotte Tilbury store until my winter trip to London, or had the change to buy any of the companies products. I had heard plenty though! I was excited to visit one of the Charlotte Tilbury stores in Covent Garden and came away with a little more than I probably needed.
The store has a lovely concept that immediately drew my eye and attention. A wall covered in ‘complete look’ boxes, highlighted by the name and photo that goes along with each one. As you move along the wall the looks become a little more extreme and dramatic. I decided to go with the first and simplest look, the Ingenue. The picture illustrates what a simple overall look this is, and I figured with its subtle palette and nude tones it would be the best value for money trying out a new brand, and hard to go wrong with.
I was right in my choice as the Ingenue pallet comes with a pretty, universal rose nude lipstick, with complimentary lip liner and a gloss that works well over the lipstick or on its own. It also coms with a similar neutral pink blush that rounds off the lips and would suit almost any complexion. The pallet contains a brown eye pencil, subtle and much more versatile than black, and a standard but lush mascara. The pale beige gold eyeshadow stick gives a nice wash of colour to the lids that can be accentuated by smudging the eye liner, and could also double as a highlighter if used carefully.
While in the store I couldn’t resist picking up this instant look in a go palette. I am not big on bronzing or highlighting and it was a totally unnecessary purchase, but the store had me in its shopping clothes and I picked it up as an experiment buy. I have yet to experiment with it but with such a clean neutral pallet I am guessing it was money well spent!
